    "LUNCH ROOM LIVE" ASSEMBLY SHOW.

    Picture
The "Lunch Room Live" begins with an exciting 45-minute assembly to introduce the topic of agriculture to the entire school.  Students will be delighted with the antics of OMSH's facilitators, Chef Parmesan and Derby (the talking horse) as they make a "pizza" using soil as the first ingredient.  Our young "farmers" then travel from the farm to the dinner table while learning about field preparation, photosynthesis, processing wheat, and making chesse - essential steps in making a pizza from "scratch."

    MEET CHEF PARMESAN AND DERBY

Chef Parmesan, our own OMSH OnTheMove facilitator and is also responsible for set-up and tear-down of the program, training volunteers, overseeing the hands-on activities, interacting with the students, teachers and staff, as well as being the star of "Lunch Room Live."   During the assembly program, Chef Parmesan will present many of the science concepts that students will become familiar with during the hands-on sessions.

Derby (the talking horse) is Chef Parmesan's sidekick for the "Lunch Room Live" assembly show.  Derby, a mechanized, talking horse, provides students with many facts about Kentucky agiculture as well as a few wise cracks to the Chef.
